Hey! Been a while since I have been on here as had no time to do anything to my car as uni has been hectic but got a reason to now...

My back box has decided to detach itself from the rest of the exhaust at the weld so need a new exhaust. Where is the best place to get it done in your opinion. Want a relatively high quality standard exhaust so it will last. Not bothered about a pricey named one as my tail pipe is hidden by the bumper. Are nationwide express autocentres ok? Or is somewhere like kwik fit better?

How much is a standard exhaust for a 1.4 s?

cheers guys

:D sorry link does work

You'd need something like a SEALEY pipe cutter and a sleeve to join old and new

Alrite guys,

I ended up buying one from gsf at about £50, Thought it may last longer and sound a bit better than a £25 one!

Anyways was a touch because I was able to unscrew one of the bolts on the old clamp even though they were well rusted. Detached the rear pipe from the central pipe using releasing fluid and a hammer and chisle to peel back the lips of the rear pipe. Then luckily it released and was then able to twist it up and down and slide it off.
The new one went on alright and just stuck some sealant around the joint to make sure it was a good fit. Sounds so much better! I thought the car was sounding a bit rough for a while and thought it was the engine getting knackered but the old silencer had holes all on the top surface hidden under the car so it sounds soooooo much better now! :funk:

The rear box isn't protected from splashing from the rear tyre at all so no surprise it was so bad although think most exhausts rust from the inside.

Anyways only took one hour which is great but now its back to my revision :thumbd:

Cheers peoples!
