Hi there guys. I've been having a look around the internet trying to find new suspension for my Ibiza FR 2.0tdi, but i thought this would be the best place to ask! So i'm finding the suspension on the hard side, and around where i live, the roads are terrible, and going over bumps and potholes makes me wince every time! Even passengers have commented that the suspension is hard. I'm loving the power of the diesel lump, but i would definitely sacrifice some of the sportiness for comfort if possible! I'm probably looking to upgrade to a softer suspension that's going to last me a long time, but without making me bankrupt! Haha. Do any of you guys have any suggestions as to what could fit the bill? Cheers.

Unfortunately most aftermarket springs are made to enhance handling and this usually comes at the price of some comfort, as they'll be stiffer. You can get progressive rate sprigs which are initially softer, then firm up when more load is applied. The idea is that they combine both comfort and handling. Having said this though, perhaps the easiest thing to do would be fit some springs from a lesser spec ibiza i.e. an se, as they will have softer suspension. The only thing you would need to check for is the appropriate axle weight. The other thing you could do would be fit coil overs with adjustable dampers, but these will most likely be quite expensive.

Dampers and springs from either a standard non-sport spec 6J Ibiza or maybe the equivalent Fabia / Polo? As mentioned though, especially with the 2.0 lump you'll probably want to check the weight ratings.

KW, may sound weird but its way comfier now then before.

standard setup is under sprung and over damped. so its bumpy and jarring.

kw sort all that.

thanks for the replies guys. I am running 17's with low profile tires which definitely doesn't help matters, but the ride is definitely too firm for everyday driving so just need to soften it up a bit so it absorbs the bumps and potholes of the crappy roads nowadays! Anyone else had an experience with KW suspension? It is a bit more than i'd be looking to pay so are there any cheaper alternatives?
