When I was looking a few weeks ago, TDi Cupras/FRs with 80k-ish miles on them were around £8-8.5k. Only ones for under £8k had done over 100k miles.

6 grand for one with 90k on the clock is very good - almost too good?

Thats alot - I sold my Cupra tdi with 82k in Feb for £6300 with full SEAT history.

Bought mine last week from a Nissan dealer with 12 months MOT, 12 months tax, 12 months Warranty and full service history for £8.5K. It had 44K on the clock. It's a 53 plate from Feb 2004.

I've got 50mpg on a good motorway run from Wigan to Manchester and I get 37ish around town.

Im buying private - going today for it.

Cant believe the mpg, I used to get 40mpg easy in my 5speed 150bhp 320d manual around town and 50 or so on a run. A mate of mine averages over 55, but does more motorway and has the six speed box.

Oh well, just see how this one goes

If I did 70mph on the motorway with no traffic around, I'd see 55 no probs. But if there's no traffic around, I'm not doing 70mph...

..If you catch my drift:D

I'm talking buying from trade. Plus, didn't you get your Cupra at a really good price (<£6k)? So you still made a profit selling at what was still a good price for the next buyer :D

Maybe there's a regional difference too - I certainly haven't seen any for much less than £8k with less than 80k miles up north (I'll have to look further south :p)

Ok just bought a December 2004 54 plate FR tdi with 90k full history for £5500

Just needs tyres and tracking doing as 1 tyres was wearing away unevenly

Ive just got all tyres done for £80 fitted and balanced (part worn pilot sports) and going to get it tracking with the hunter dsp 6000 hopefully tomorrow.

Coming back I did 100miles with cruise on around 75mph, showing 60mpg

sorry to hijack again but I am looking to buy one of these but I'm struggling to find a decent one for a good price. I have around 8k to play with and it must be trade as I am part ex'ing my Mazda.

Couple of quick questions, what are the differences (if any) between the cupra and FR models? Also how long will these engines last? Seen a nice example going for £6k but had 120k on the clock which really puts me off. They are hard to find up here in the North East!

As far as i know differences are the FR has matt silver/grey wing covers, cruise control and different wheels - well thats all I can tell between the cupra and FR I've had.

These engines are pretty good and cant expect 200k+ out of them, just as long as servicing is kept up.

I bought mine from Lincoln, but was private and was priced at £7700 on the paper in the window but was advertised cheaper on ebay
