Front Wipers

Hi all,

well today was the day that i was to give my car a full clean and polish, ( took me the best part of 5 hours to clean her fully)
but whilst doing the windscreen i noticed that i couldnt lift up the drivers side wiper, the arm kept hitting the bonnet, it would lift if i pulled hard and the arm would twist round, but this was scraping the bonnet, the only solution really is to switch the wipers on and stop them when they reach the top.
seems quite strange,

With the new astra you do a trick with the wiper stalk and the wipers move to a "service" position so that you can replace them

from memory, you turn the ignition on and off again and flick the wiper switch towards you before you remove the keys. they should park horizontally.
