Hi, I bought this used Garmin unit off eBay recently for a very good price. It did not come with an SD card supplied. It did have the usb b wire. It appears to be brand new for an old product it was all sealed in the bags in the box and stuff. The thing is the car this is meant to be used with is at a garage for the time being so I haven't been able to set the sat nav unit into the car in the middle of the dashboard mount thing. If I try and plug the usb wire into the mains and into the unit it powers as far as a black screen that has BL 2.10 OS 2.10 and BT with a string of characters. It shows this for a few moment and then reboots and repeats. It also makes a bit of weird electronic whine. Ultimately I'd like to use this in my Ibiza which I just bought but ended up at the garage hours after delivery (let's not go there). I ordered an 8gb micro SD card to go with it. But like how do I get it all working? Would I be wrong in thinking it's a case of sticking in the card and then connecting it to my car and seeing if it will accept the charge so it can boot properly? I don't think there is anything wrong with the unit so to speak, I just don't know what to do or where to start as I can't connect it to my car yet.
