I'll be picking up a new Ibiza 1.2 tsi fr (Black) on March 1st. It is in fact my 4th Ibiza in a row but the first one to have the Seat Sat Nav system which is what this thread is about.
I've just spent an hour reading right through the manual for the "Navigation System" (as Garmin calls it) which I downloaded from my dealers website. I understood virtually all of it but there's a couple of questions I hope someone can clarify for me...
In my current Ibiza "Chill" 1.4 (2011) I've been playing music through the radio player via a SD Card filled with mp3 files and plugged into the USB socket under the dash. I see the USB option has been removed in the new Ibizas but mp3 music can now be played via a mini SD card slot on the side of the Sat Nav unit. I'd like to know if I can play music this way AND still have the actual sat nav in operation at the same time? Does the music continue even if you switch to sat nav mode (or car info mode)? If the answer is yes, then does the sat nav audible instructions override the music in some way or is there a "clash"? If I have the music turned up loud, will I be able to hear the sat nav?
The manual talks about TMC traffic news and also about Live Services which it sometimes also calls Traffic Live. Am I right in thinking that Traffic Live is only available if you have an Internet connection via your phone? Or can the unit connect to it without a phone? Do any of you (especially UK users) use the TMC mode and is it any good?
This is actually my first ever sat nav of any sort and (bearing that in mind) it seems pretty good to me especially considering its "free". I got to play with it very briefly during a 30 minute test drive though I had no user manual with me and was concentrating more on other aspects of the car... which I loved by the way. But then I'm VERY biased!
