gearbox change

hi just wondering if a mk4 golf tdi gearbox
would fit a mk1 leon tdi or if not what would cheers

There is a gearbox code for VAG cars. Do you have a 5-spd manual box and what engine is it?

as above, need to know which engine its coming from and going to. 5-sp to 5-sp is ok, 6-sp to 6-sp is ok, however 5-sp to 6-sp and vica versa are not ok as you will need to change all sorts of other things too.
