Hi, looking to get a grounding kit, i remeber a while back reading on vwvortex.com that grounding the 1.8t engine with proper grounding cable can give an extra 4-5bhp...

Have found this website:
http://www.4grounding.com/shop.htm

$57 dollars isn't too bad about £30

heres a review:
here

Anybody tried this or know anything from experience? but according to that review they managed an extra 15bhp at top end.

a good contact is always best yes, but to say you can gain 4-5 bhp to my knowledge is totally rubbish

I've got a kit similar to that, still haven't had chance to fit it but I'd imagine it would stabilise the electronics' power a bit. Doubt it would increase power compared to new unless you've got very dodgy wiring indeed. That said it might look kinda cool :D

The difference should be none if your wiring harnesses etc are in good working order. If your car is getting a bit older it may benefit it more I suppose, hard to say.

In my case it will probably be mostly eye candy :D

guide on my website :)

I've done it - stopped me getting static shocks from the car body every 5 mins!

4-5bhp? Give over... if that was the case those brussel sprouts i had for xmas would mean I've gained 20bhp :D

It made the 12v a more steady signal i think - lights don't flicker as much as they used to.

power claims I meant yes. ;)
not had static in ickle ibiza personally.

good good, just checking :bleh:

My missus gets them all the time - no matter what car it is.. Really weird but i blame her of course, not the car(s)...

Thinking of fitting one of these to her yaris... might stop her complaining :D
