right after sparking up alot of interest on this and wanting to do this my self ive finaly got my arse into gear and put up a manual on this haha

p.s im not saying this is the perfect way to do it but it works perfectly on my car and should do on every body elses.

i have done this so that the decat is completly removable so there is a bit of extra work involved but its worth it

tools and things: :p
general socket set.
welder
grinder
half moon clamps
some spare straight pipe that is the same size or very slightly bigger than the standard pipe in the middle.

right first things first you need one of these pipes!!!
( im not selling the pipe its just an ebay link!)

right once i bought this pipe basically i took the cat out (make sure lots of rust off is applyed on manifold bolts) for the other end if you have the centre box in (take it out its much better ;) ) just undo the clamp and then slide the pipe out.

once you have the cat off cut the mount that links onto the manifold pipe off as close as you can to the actual flat plate. this makes it easer to measure and weld on.
once you have that plate off put the cat ontop of the decat pipe and see where the cut on the cat lines up on the decat pipe. (always cut so theres more than you need incase of a mistake !!!).
This should give you the length you need so that if you bolt the plate that you cut off the cat back onto the manifold by its self then you can hold the decat pipe in where its gong to go just to see its not to long at the front to make sure it doesent hit bottom when driving.

right if you have the centre section in ignor this next paragraph and move onto the next one.
for those of you that already have removed your centre section this is easy as

You can't, daft new rule that you only have something like 10minutes after you've made a post to edit it before t gets locked down for all time.
Best bet is to quote the post, edit it, then PM a mod/admin with the completed post and ask them to edit it for you.

right once i bought this pipe basically i took the cat out (make sure lots of rust off is applyed on manifold bolts and wire brush the threads) for the other end if you have the centre box in (take it out its much better ) just undo the clamp and then slide the pipe out.
heres the section empty and what its like with the cat out. baring in mind cut yours shorter the reason my one is cut off so long as it is where my straight through centre section was clamped onto so i just took that out you just need to cut yours as soon as it goes straight after the bend in the cat.

once you have the cat off cut the mount that links onto the manifold pipe off as close as you can to the actual flat plate. this makes it easer to measure and weld on. heres the cat out and the plate cut off.

once you have that plate off put the cat ontop of the decat pipe and see where the cut on the cat lines up on the decat pipe. (always cut so theres more than you need incase of a mistake !!!). heres my decat pipe after i had cut it.

This should give you the length you need so that when you bolt the plate that you cut off the cat back onto the manifold like this...

by its self then you can hold the decat pipe in where its gong to go just to see its not to long at the front so that it wont hit bottom when driving.

right once you have done this and all lenghts are correct just size up your plate onto the end of the decat and make sure that the whole is obviously ok for the pipe
once you have done this bolt the plate on the manifold again and put you decat pipe in and get somebody to hold it in the correct position and the tack it on with the welder when its being held in the correct place.
once this is complete then just simply remove the pipe the plate connected and then weld the rest of the pipe on and resulting in this.

just check with a torch on the out side that there are no holes in the weld.

once this done bolt the pipe on in place and see where you need to weld the pipe with half moon clamp in after the decat pipe is finished. once you have that all measured up and welded in place just simply clamp the ends together and seal it just to be sure and the finished product should look a little like this.
