Last September ( 2012) my car went into limp mode, due to the DPF. So went to a company, they removed the DPF and re-mapped my car. definately could feel the remap etc and still can to this day.

However after reading a thread on this forum, if you have had the DPF removal done then when you turn on the ignition on your car, then you shouldnt be able to see the dpf light come on for that split second, is this true? I noticed the light this morning when i turned the ignition, but to be honest ive never actually looked/bothered to check until reading the other thread yesterday. Since the removal and remap the DPF light has never came on while travelling ( indicating it needs a regen) but after seeing the light i thought i would ask.

Its a 2006 Seat leon FR 2.0 TDI.

Cheers

You probably want the light to still come on even if the DPF is no longer there, otherwise it might fail the MOT.

My friends car failed because the ABS light wasn't being displayed when turning the ignition on, these days they are supposed to check all the correct lights display.

i've been asking the same question, i suspect mines has been removed, but can't find any evidence to back it up. the light still flashes on my dash as well, and i've never seen it attempt a regen. is there any other physical way of checking the dpf has been removed, without having to get the car up on a ramp?

you could check the ash mass content in vagcom , maybe give you an indication if the dpf has been deleted , ash mass /soot level will be 0%

I'm on a stage 2 shark map with DPF delete and my DPF light still shows up on the dash when the ignitions turned on.

Could be just my theory but if there is a very strong smell of diesel coming out the exhaust on tickover then the dpf will be removed, couldn't smell anything out of mine when the dpf was in place, stinks now its been removed.

Hi, I'm looking into getting my Leon FR170 remapped and having the DPF removed soon.
By sounds of it most of you lot have gutted yours right? Should I just gut mine or buy a new straight pipe?
What sort of power/torque have you guys got out of yours through the remap and removal?

Thanks,
Tbop :)

If your going to get yours removed make sure you go to a good reputable tuner that people on here recommend because not everyone that claims to be able to do it can, I ended up £400 down and with a dodgy remap after I went to a place called ecuflash. Just a word of warning mate
