Hey, Recently had my car in the garage because i thought i had a leak where the cat meets the centre section i asked them to reseal it hoping that this would cure the problem but unfortunatly it hasnt. Ive been under the car and had a little shake about, now when i shake the middle silencer its got abit of a rattle my first thoughts where that it could just be abit of exhaust paste fallen inside and got trapped and would eventuly get blown out?? but this isnt the case. the strange thing about it is it seems alot worse when the autochoke is on and it idels above 1k and really sounds like its blowing when you blip the pedel. When the revs drop to normal everything seems to sound ok. Its going into the garage friday to have the k03s fitted so he can check it then but was just wondering if anybody could shed some light and save me a few pennies.

Cheers.

I have a full milltek system on the car, does this mean i have to have a 2.5" milltek section, as its only a silencer would it make any differance if it was a cheaper make? Any idea on price for a milltek centre section?

Cheers.

You can do with out that bit, just get some one to make up a 2.5" pipe with a bend in it out of stainless steel job done, does'nt make it much louder and is less restrictive. Ask beaker on here he has done this.

Thats a good idea olly cheers! :D did Beaker have it made up near stroud? As im not to far away from there or would be even better if they did a mail order service. Hmm just trying to think of who could be about in the oxford area... All the tyre and exhaust places round here only tend to use steel and not stainless:confused:

I think beaker got it off of bill second hand, and bill had it made up for him as a one off, I'm sure there are loads of places that can make it for you, i know longlife on the A38 would do it but i don't rate them much, You'r best bet is to take your old one of and get a lift to somewere and just ask them to copy it - center section then fit it your self as most of the cost is in the fitting at thoses sort of places. IMO

No probs.
As an idea, me and beaker both have jetex 2.5" cat back and there is hardly any sound difference between us, but he does have a standard DP and cat with no center section but i have a 3"DP and sports cat with center section, but either way i cant see it being chavey loud, and at worst it should only cost ya £60ish and can always be sold on ebay if you don't like the sound.

Im gunna give this option a bash as long as its not too loud, When they make up the section do you think that they will be able to weld the bracket on to be able to still use the hanger thats there?

Just had another idea, if you'r not keeping you'r center section you could just get them to cut the box out and swop it for a pipe then they wont have to wurry about the hanger or bends.
Also try taking your pipe of and shaking it around and see what it sounds like, if it is sealer you can shake it out.

Yes and no mate, when i had my k03s fitted at the weekend the re-sealed all the joints and it sounds alot better however i still have a small rattle coming from the same place when the autochoke is on, So either my baffles have slighty started to fall apart and thats what is causeing the small rattle or i have abit of exhaust paste inside the silencer. eitherway it seems to go away when the autochoke shuts itsself off
