Heater Blower only works on setting 4

Hi everyone

I bought my wife a car SEAT IBIZA registered 2016. To my disappointment the heater blower has started playing up. All of the research points to issues concerning the resistor block thermal fuse situated in the fan housing. Every video I've found relates to an older model, this car is totally different other than having the fan blower behind the glove box,

Does anyone have references/pictures as to where the resistor pack is located now that I have removed the glove box and found white insulation and no sign of where this device is located?

Look forward to hearing from you guys.

Cheers

Manny

Definitely res pack I’ve not actually done one on this year Ibiza yet tho so unsure to wear it is.
Normally it is either on the blower motor unit or very close to that location. I’d take off the glove box and lower trim by your feet and you should see blower unit as you pull off the glove box.

Thanks for the reply
Found the pack behind the glove box and above the fan housing to the left of the filter housing. I tell you what, a nightmare to get out. Found an explanation listed for a cupra, same location.

Pack is cracked, resistor wire has burned through, not a great design.

Cool glad you found it ok. Cars in general don’t make sense sometimes when things fail I often ask myself why/how.
I have to agree with your sentiments. Took me an hour to take all the surrounding bit-n-pieces and probably another hour or more putting it back. You would think designers would make the access more accessible due to the frequency of this part failing. My concern is the fan running freely when on setting 1 or 2? Is the slower fan speed starved the pack of cooling hence the failure?

Need to find out but, looks like you have to strip out major areas to drop this fan housing, cant find any references on how this is done?

Usually when the resistor is does so in open setting, ie, full speed as the resistor part is fubared and won’t control the speed, car* designers need to spend a bit of time repairing them, what works well in design for construction rarely does so in situ for repair.

* Not solely car designers btw.

Common issue nowadays, not just Seat, some are an absolute pig to change as well. Fiesta is probably the easiest.
