Hi to everybody.

Been a lurker for some time and think there are some really interesting things to see and read on here.

I owned a 1.4 TSI FR Edition Ibiza for 18 months and really enjoyed the car. Sharp looking design with understated performance and great running costs, it was my first experience of SEAT.

I had been wanting a 1.8 TSI Ibiza Cupra for about the last 6 months, but was always put off by pricing and the travel distances involved to see the ones up for sale (never more than 5 or 6 at any given time).

Recently had the good fortune to spot a Cupra for sale locally, so I traded in the FR and now own a Cupra - couldn't be happier with it. Performance wise it is great, and I was really surprised by the step up in cabin quality and general comfort over the FR. Will probably start looking at some minor modifications once the warranty expires.

Great looking car you have there! How long do you have left on Warranty? The mod scene is a slippery slope haha

If you're anywhere near Doncaster on the 28th April we have a forum meet happening with about 17 cars as of now. Mixture of all sorts from stock to heavily modified Leon, Ibiza's etc. It's a good way to spend your money and not ours haha

If you start modding then you should create a Readers Ride and keep us all up to date with what you're up to.

Thanks, I was really lucky to get it in shiny metallic silver.

Warranty wise about 9 months left. I waited a similar time with the old FR before getting a stage 1 remap and some small cosmetic upgrades.

Will most likely get a stage 1 for the Cupra and some minor cosmetic additions (along the lines of vinyl for the fog lights, decals etc).

One thing I am looking into already is to paint the brake calipers red, as I loved the red ones on the FR Edition. My Cupra is not a Black Edition so the calipers are purely stock.

Appreciate the heads-up about the rides thread, will check in there once the modding begins!
