Ive got a little problem with my 1999 2.0 8v gti Ibiza, went to start it this morning and it started, backfired and then cut out and wouldn't start and there wasn't any spark...
Checked the earth leads..... the one under the battery that bolts to the chassis leg was loose.
tightened the earth wire, still no spark.
Changed the distributor cap, rotor arm and ignition leads.... still no spark.
Changed the coil... no spark
Changed the distributor.... No spark.
All these parts were on a running car.
In the end, got the good old snap on diagnostic scanner out and got this code: 00513- Engine speed sensor, signal above tolerances.
Does anyone know what this means and why im not getting a spark?
