Defrosted the car this morning and took the missus to work, an engine check warning light has come on :-( its yellow in colour. Have not noticed any other faults as far as I can tell the engine is still performing as it should.

Is there anyone in the midlands area with VCDS who would be willing to diagnose it for me? I'm prepared to travel...

SEAT cant get me in until next sat and I need the car for the 165 mile trip dawwn sauuff to work on Sunday!

P.S wtf snowing in spring?!?

before doing anything drastic, turn the car off.
remove the red battery cable and leave for about 5 mins.
then reconnect and see if the light has gone,
due to the weather it could be sensors playing up.

you will need to get the faults cleared though otherwise will stay in the ecu.

Well took the car out this morning after disconnecting battery for 10 minutes and then reconnecting... Didn't really do much, my dash lit up like a Christmas tree with warnings which went off after a few metres of driving. The check engine warning light is still on.

According to seat it is okay to drive unless it turns red? Then I would have to pull over...

As I can't risk travelling back to work with it like this I'm taking the missus's iggy sport ;)

Will report back once it's been into seat next sat... Will hopefully be covered by the warranty!

Managed to get the car into SEAT today, it was diagnosed as a faulty 'Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor' it is going to be replaced under warranty next Thursday and I've been advised its safe to drive until then. Very happy with the service given to be honest :) got back to collect my car to find him all nice and clean also... Top marks Seat Derby!
