HELP. engine troubles

just had the car out, when the idle went all lumpy and plumes of white smoke out of exhaust, car then cut out, then struggled to start. also just before it cut out intake/boost noise changed. when started car sounds like top end rattle, removed rocker cover and chain tensioner seems ok. anything else that is bad for going in these engines???
 
smoke only seems to be intermittant tho. and there is fault codes for cylinder 3 missfire.....
 
no oil loss, its only just done it tonight. havnt drove it since it happend due to rattle noise. but turbo was slightly smokey before. just worried bout rattle tbh
 
Might of fooked the cam chain tensioner mate but can't be sure a good cleanwont sort it tho :(

wip the sump off and check for shrapnel just to be safe Could be anything tbh :(
 
checked the cam tensioner. cant push it down so its not burst. grrrr. gona do compression checks etc tomorrow nite. cud be a follower????
 
:shrug: any holes anywhere lol you need to find out what the misfire us ;) have you checked turbo?
 
na not seeing nething atm. gona check turbo 2morrow nite. wots best way to check... remove tip??
