Hey guys,

So I've had my DPF gutted and a remap with Collins Performance and my car is at 60k miles. I don't intend to do anymore modifications - I do a lot of motorway driving and a lot of town driving in bursts so now won't have any DPF problems (right..?) and also improved power/acceleration/MPG which is great! Picking it up later and can't wait.

The guys who remapped suggested I would need a new clutch soon enough now with this remap and also my car is at 60,000 miles. Do I need a new flywheel as well? Can anyone recommend a clutch and/or flywheel combo I should get which will last for as long as possible based on an approx 210-220BHP Seat Leon FR TDI (170) 08 pre facelift? Will an OEM clutch do the job from Dave @ Seremotors? Are there any other likely problems my car could encounter with the above mods over the next 30k? If so I want to avoid them by doing what I can now as opposed to letting them happen!

NB I don't know exactly what a fly wheel is and if I need one if I don't plan to do any more upgrades aside from clutch replacement and will take any advice offered! People talking from experience would be great as to what they've spent and what they've got.

Thanks!

i would fit a uprated clutch and dualmass
i personally would recommend a helix set up
from my experience of these they are second to none
got one fitted to my leon mk1 cupra tdi 197bhp/330 ft/lb torque
also in my evo tme 370bhp/360 ft/lb torque

Can u actually feel the clutch slipping or is it just that he has said this? I'm on 86k with a dpf delete running very similar figures to u and I'm not even starting to think about a new clutch. The OEM one is absolutely fine.

Benzy that is massively reassuring! No I haven't had it slip once, he just said it slipped once during tests. What are you on torquewise? Basically I can't afford for my car to have any more problems and as it's at 60k I'm gonna need to change the Cambelt too right. Is it worth doing the water pipes at the same time?

Is there anything else I should look out for for my car to have peak longevity now it's been remapped? It's so much fun so I'm hoping the honeymoon period stops soon so I don't risk damaging the engine!

My car has been remapped with a revo map and had been since I had it (60k) and today on the way home from work it started slipping (100k) does anyone know how much it will cost or give me some advice on what is best to do?

I have just been looking into this and on Fleabay oe clutch , single mass fly and pressure plate is about 325quid, just the clutch and pressure plate along are circa 150, and a 6paddle Kevlar motorsport clutch, single mass fly and pressure plate is £625. If it's only just started slipping and you don't abuse the clutch just replace with oe
