Hi peeps, I am pregnant and have a 7 month old. I am looking for a new car and love the Altea looks. Would a double buggy fit in the boot? It is proving to be harder than I thought finding a car that it will fit in!!

I have the brochure in front of me and it shows a mountain bike standing up diagonally across the boot. Capacity measured in litres varies from 532 litres up to 635 litres depending on how the seats are slid about.

From relatively recent experience with a double Maclaren buggy, I would say it would fit but perhaps not one of the big wheeled "landrover" style ones.

The reviews are good all round for it, so i'd say put it on the shortlist and go and try one. :)

Welcome to the forum and I hope the pregnancy goes well for you.

I bought my Altea just after we had our daughter and it ticked all the boxes. The wife now has a Renault Scenic (old type) which in all honesty is better suited to the task of humping buggies and kids around as she regulary gives lifts for her sister and little boy so two buggies and all go in the boot. Don't get me wrong the Altea is of better build and infinatly better to drive just not quite as much room so I expect the Altea XL with its bigger boot and all will be the ideal vehicle incorporating space, quality and drivability. I say go for it and the 2.0TDI will be most suited with all the torque on offer from a great engine.

ah thank you so much guys.

It is the Maclaren double buggy that we have so I will take it with me to the showroom.

Fingers crossed for me!

A dealer would be used to people trying 'stuff' in the boot of a car, so if you have the buggy (or a buggy) take it & stuff it in there.
