I have a strange fault on my 02 Cupra at the moment. When you start from cold on a frosty morning, the temp warning beeper goes off and the warning light flashes until you stop the engine. If you stop the engine immediately and restart, the fault goes away. I have checked the coolant level and it is fine. Also, the fault only occurrs on really cold mornings, so I figure it must be a faulty temp sensor somewhere - but why does it clear when you restart the engine regardless of how long it has been running:wtf: I tried calling in the AA man, but he came on a frost free morning and there was no fault:shrug: Can anyone suggest which sensor might be at fault, and where it is located?

Just the sensor aggravated by the cold weather i reckon. Had the same thing on my Golf 1.8T - it happened three mornings in a row *STOP!* - and never happened again after that.
