I'm 99% sure you can't get an M7, they're even numbers only.

You should find you need an M8, and it's actually a small bit of corrosion that is making it seem like it's not fitting. Waggle the bit in the bolt head just to get rid of the crud, and it should work properly.

I've just realised, are you having trouble with the bolts themselves, or the tool required to remove them? I kind of assumed it was the spline bit you're using to remove them rather than the bolts themselves, so I may be completely off the ball.

If you're looking at replacing the bolts, you can get replacements from SEAT for about a pound each if I remember correctly.

its getting the bolts out im puzzled on mate just the spline key size. all bolts appear to be in good order i just havent got them off yet. so a m8 will do the trick. and thanks about where to get replacements from. if any round off the hacksaws gonna have to come out ;p

Ah, that's ok then I was answering the right question! I got my spline key from Cromwell, although they don't do an M7 size either.

This might seem like a silly question, but are you actually using a 12 point spline rather than a 6 point? The fact you call it a spline key rather than a torx key suggests you are, but I just wanted to check. I tried using a six point key initially, and that was the same. One size was too small, one was too large.

yeah it was a 12 bit spline i was sad enough to count them all lol
the bolt inside was unfortuntly rounded off. the rest worked a treat though. took me 3 hoursd to get that one bolt off :/
anyway thanks for your help man. much appreciated :)

I was dreading that with mine, I really don't like the idea of any 'internal' fixing like torx or these 12 point ones. I much prefer a good old fashione hexagonal outside fixing that you can get a spanner or socket on!!

Good to hear you got it sorted though! :)
