Hi to all, have searched forum's and came across various similarity to my problem but not exactly the combination I am experiencing. Well here goes, have owned a ford focus for 6 years and apart from usual service stuff was bullet proof, decided now family older needed wee change, smaller car, three doors not five etc etc . Have always admired the seat Ibiza since my brother had a red gti years ago, so went online found a 2010 black three door sports coupe 1.4 . Lovely looking car, lovely interior, sports suspension unlike the focus which was a bit tail happy in the bends, loved it. Had it out of dealership three months filled the tank right up one day came back out switched on and bang engine management light on. Drove slowly back home checked owners manual which told me was an omission s issue could be probe . Have a mate who owns a garage phoned him, he said bring the car in next day we will do diagnostic on it . Meanwhile as you do am on the net trawling to find out what could have caused this ( on here also ) some said it could be something as simple as petrol cap not on tight enough, brake light out as it is on same fuse circuit, so took my boy out to see if brake light out about three hours late, turned car on no faulty brake light but the engine management light went out . Still took car to be diagnosed next day and the list of faults were strange to say the least, from onboard computer not seeing abs, airbags etc etc to car had been in crash 2009 even though not reg till 2010 , battery had be dead at one point, they Said probably while sitting in dealership and onboard computer showning date of 2099. But not pointing to one specific fault code . Car was reset all connections checked which were all fine fuses etc . Drove for another week or so car driving fine came out one morning light back on again, back in for diagnostic same faults showing up ghost codes as there called . Light back off two days later light back on phoned dealer this time and booked in for diagnostic at seat Linwood which they were going to pick tab up for, also because car not in limp mode said should be ok to drive . Went out that night to go visit my mother turned on car and it nearly shook itself to pieces for about four seconds till I swithched it back off, swithched back on light gone and car sounding fine ? . Came back home later light still off but now when I take keys out ignition car still running for about three seconds arrrrhhh. Took car to dealership they have had full list of problems they tested it same codes came up they said just ghost codes no worry can't find anything wrong with car but to keep them posted . Two days later light back on and car running on again, next day light off arrrrh . This is really getting to me now convinced there something there missing and I am damaging the car by just carrying on they have told me its not the lampit probe which at first I though it was according to manual . Any help would be appreciated and sorry for essay but though I would try explain in the best detail what has been happening . Regards to all john
