HIDS 4500K or 6000K?

I'm looking HIDS for my car, but I'm not sure what colour temperature to get. 4500K or 6000K? I don't want to attract too much attention from police, but would still like some blue tint in light. Do 4500K have any blue tint or do I have to buy 6000K set-up?

At this moment I'm looking at the £159.99 MTec kit for mk5 golf from www.hids-direct.co.uk

6000K will have a slight tint of blue on it but its still white. The majority of OEM Xenons area about 4500K to 5000K so if you want to be really safe you can go for something in the range of 5000 to 5500K.

I love my Hids4U Ultimate 6k lights. I have looked from a distance and believe they look as close as OEM as possible. The bonus for me is the anti-glare bulbs which only illuminate the top half of the lense giving them a real small Xenon bulb size look rather than filling the whole lense which then looks 'modded'

Distance of vision is incredible and easily as good as my previous Saab 95 which had Xenons as standard

How much was the HIDS4U kit including the discount?

Yea they will throw up blown bulb errors as the voltage is very low with the HIDs so we need to buy HID kits that have something built into them that will work around this problem (the Ultimate kit is designed for newer cars such as the VAG range) hence the expense. You can try a cheap kit from Ebay if you wanted but you would need to find a work around to stop the blown bulb error from appearing and also to stop the lights from flickering as some of the guys have found.

Ah i see now, would it not be just a resistor of some sort?
Excuse my ignoracne of the Mk2 systems.

You are right but problems also include the flickering of the lights for some reason on the cheaper setup's too.

I personally have brought my HID kit so when i change between cars in the future (mine is a 3 year company car ) i can take it with me as it works with the following :-

Audi - A4, A6 2005 on
Audi - A3 2002 on (you will kill wiper motor with other kits)
BMW – E39, E46, E90, 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 series and X3 and X5 models
Jaguars – All S Types and post 2002 other models
Landrover – Post 2003 Ranger Rover, Freelander and Discovery
Mercedes - Post 2002 all models inc A, B, C, E and G Class
Porsche - Cayanne, Cayman, Boxster
Peugeot 407 (you will kill wiper motor with other kits)
Saab 9-3 2002 on
Skoda - Octavia and Superb post 2005
Seat all Post 2005, Toledo, Ibiza,
Vauxhall - Vectra C, Sigmumn, Corsa C, Mk 5 Astra
Volkswagen 2004 on Golf V, Passat, Polo, Touareg, Touran and Transporter
Volvos – Post 2002 C30, C70, S40, S60, S80, S70, V50, V70, XC70, XC90

Most of these cars are (obviously not Porsche) on the approved company car list so I will get the use of them over time

I have had 6000k before and more recently 4300k in a Mk4 golf - I wanted better light but not something really obvious that I had altered the lights - the 4300k setup is spot on.

Go to Hids4u they are spot on if you want to get hids designed specifically for the reflector housing, means you dont glare people, That being said tho, The leon gets away with it no problem, for some reason the beam pattern is quite precise
