How do I remove Altea XL headlight?

Hi folks,

As title states, tried last night but don't have a clue. There's the screw on top but don't seem to have access to bottom to see if there's more.

I saw a few Leon issues and wasn't sure if this was the same.

Has anyone actually taken one off!

Thanks

front bumper sounds a bit daunting i know but just had a peek under the bonnet & wheel arches

its pretty much like a golf ( funny that )

you have 4 fixings in each wheel arch and then looks like you pop the grill out and prob 3 or so there

they may well be 2 lower down behind the fog light pannels

at least that might give you a few places to look

& dont forget the outside temp sensor if probably on the near side bottom corner

have fun

Thanks mac,

Very helpful info, I also found a site explaining removal from a Leon which is basically just how you put it. If it's not too dark this evening I'll try and take a few pics and make a how to if it would be useful.

Thanks

best of luck its one of those things you think is gonna be a night mare but actually is quite easy

your gonna need some t 20 / 25 & 30 spline bits to get em all out

turn the wheel all the way to the left undo the rh arch and then swing back the other way and do the left

let us knowhow you get on

Well managed to do it all ok today and fix the headlight as opposed to replacing it.

As you said mac not as daunting as it seemed.

There's 8 star screws under the bumper, then 2 behind the centre lower mesh, 5 in each arch then 4 under bonnet.

Just pull the sides away from arches & pull bumper forward!

Thanks for the help!

I had a look but didnt see one, I was worried I'd pull it off so took the bumper off gently, the front fog cables were there but I could see any sensor after a good hoke around
