How many miles per tank for a petrol leon

I am curious to understand the average mileage people get with the petrol Leon, I have seen some comments on the diesel but nothing on petrol,

I have a 1.6 Petrol and we seem to be getting below 300 miles to a tank – this seems very low to me, and is costing a fortune in petrol  . The car is used for a mixture or town and motorway driving. It has 12K on the clock and is about 13 months old.

I am just trying to get some info before going back to the dealer, who is going to argue there is nothing wrong with the car.

Ps – it does appear to be a Friday car as it has already been back to the dealer six times in 12 months. (Drop links replaced, problems with the air bag and engine management system)

Also to be honest not confident the dealer knows what they are doing, but they are the only one in the local area.

I get ~350 miles from an absolutely, totally filled to the gills tank run to the point of just fumes remaining.

I've got a 2.0T so you do seem to be hard done to!

I would say 320-330 is a fair estimate of the 1.6 range. The 1.6 is a very inefficient engine for its power output. The new 1.4 tsi is much better on fuel AND performance.

The computer on my Cupra says between 270 and 320 on a full tank. I think it adjusts it based on the type of driving before I fill the car up.

I think in real life it is slightly better than the computer calculates though.

No way my Cupra would do 500 on a tank though. 50 to 55 mph seems like the optimum speed and I probably see just over 35 mpg at the sort of speeds. Anything above about 55 and the mpg just goes down.

I think people do tend to remember the best they ever got from a car... i remember telling people i got 32mpg from my 2.5l Mazda.... well i did once, going downhill with a following wind......

How much does it cost to fill a cupra up from dryish?

Cost me £57 odd today from when the clock hit 0 miles that was V-Power at £1.12p per litre

It says 280 miles on the clock but i doubt ill get that! Plus I average overall (2500 miles about 23mpg) mainly short journeys. on a long run I get early 30's

Thats on a Mk2 Leon Cupra

I get at least 480 to a tank on my FR 170. Usually it's around 520 - best I got was about 550. That was a slooooow week and a half. :(

I get about between 370 and 400 to a tank on my FR TFSI DSG. That is with a 50 mile daily commute and a mix of motorway, towns and traffic jams. I drive reasonable sensible but it does get the occasional blast!

So far I am reasonably happy with the economy and having driven a range of diesels and petrol I would find it hard to go back to diesel.......

I agreed with s3quence that's roughly what I get. Used to be about £50 for a tank when I first got mine in July, but petrol has shot up in price since then. I do get V-Power for about £1.089 a litre though at the moment.

I'd be lucky to get early 30's on a long run, unless I was driving really carefully. Just under 30 is the norm unless I boot it.
