Hi, i recently bought a ibiza fr tdi and im very happy with it, brilliant performace mixed with great fuel consumption, however i am yet to put my foot down to much as i dont want "rag" my car, i have heard however that this is not good as it can cause soot to build up on the VNT and the egr,
i am just woundering how you guys drive ur tdi's and wether or not i should drive it harder to give it a good clear out, i have searched using the search bar but havnt come across much :headhurt:

i've read that it's better to wait until your engine is warmed up a bit before booting it. the only way you're going to do any damage is if you're flooring it in first gear constantly lol.

Right, as said above let your engine warm up and then you can BOOT it as you please :D, also do the reverse before you switch off ignition - drive on low boost or about 2000-2500rpm for the last few miles.
As for soot build up, it is common to give a diesel a good booting before an MOT as this clears out any soot and gives a better reading (diesels don't have the same emissions as their petrol counterparts)
If you do a lot of town driving, then it's always good to partake in a bit of motorway driving to stop the turbo vanes seizing.
