I need idea for my new engine

Hi everone

I left my 1.8t leon 6 months back due to engine break down happened because of oil leakage from its ko3s turbo. Now I want to bay second hand engine AUQ code as mine. My question is what I nedd to convert to BAM engine , if you have any idea that will be a bad investment please post

i too was in the same position as you about 9 months ago, i had read all over on information on witch block to use, their is really no point going BAM unless you are going to use an entire engine from a cupra r like the inlet manifold exhaust manifold turbo e.t.c if you do a search on this forum you will find alot of information and it just really isnt worth it.

i was really close in doing a AGU swap using my k03s e.t.c as the AGU is a large port engine, only issue with that is it doesn't have the VVT that our AUQ engine does and again just not worth it.

in terms of an easy swap i would just go AUQ like i did in the end saved allot of headaches and was easier than i expected it was going to be.

just make sure you have all new gaskets, some hose clips and i would do the cam belt and water pump while your their! give the donor engine a good clean before you put it in the car and you will be well chuffed with your self when your all done

p.s i would use a 2 poster ramp if you have access to one, i did mine on my drive and ended up having to take the gearbox out twice after and it was a total pain!

Kindy, could explain what the poster ramp is?
