Just looking to gauge what average MPG's anyone on here has from the 1.2TDI diesel? on my last fill up (45 litres) i have only managed 490 miles, which equates to approx. 49MPG. This seems low even with the cold temps seen over last couple of weeks. 95% of this is B road driving at no more than 50mph, I was expecting around 60mpg. I have had 66mpg on the same journey and then 54mpg the next day doing exact same route and driving style.
Another question I have is how long should my idle remain elevated (1000rpm)? I get that on could starts this is the norm but I thought that after say 10mins of driving once engine has reached operating temp. In my case 30 mins later it will still be idling at just over 1000rpm (A/C off).
Any info appreciated.
