I have a 2016 Ibiza 1.2 TSI. I have just passed 100k miles and wanted to hear views on when to replace the cambelt. I called a Seat dealer at around 80,000 and they reckoned it should be good to about 130k but now I've passed 100k I'm getting a bit nervous.
@WBR83 I'd think that deep down, you know the answer to this question, my wife's August 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS is only at 55,000miles, and I'll be handing it in to a local VAG Indie for a new cambelt etc later this month, for me 10 years is enough, originally I had claimed that I'd get this done at round about the 7.5 years point in its life.
We've, as a family, ran 2 cars with the older 1.4 16V engines and they got new cambelts every 4 years for the 2002 VW Polo and every 5 years for the 2009 SEAT Ibiza, going by that rate of expenditure, getting the cambelt changed at 10 years seems okay for me.
