ibiza mk2 1.6 8v

hi all
i just need help with my new engine , two days ago i bought an engine for my mk2 98 4 door

the new engine is 1.6 polo engine i think it is the same look for my old one 1.0 seat sxe engine
but it more bigger if we talk about the size


any way the new engine is 1.6 polo 8v stock engine i am not sure if it 95 hp or 102 hp
i just want to modified this engine to Progress more hp thinking about 150 hp is all i need .


i Noted that this is the only place on the web that i can get all the help i need
so any suggestion will be great

im pretty sure this engine is only 75bhp matey!! i know because im doing the same to mine but im having problems finding a gearbox to match!

and i think you are expecting too much with 150bhp? but if you manage it then i take my hat off to you!

Could be a 100bhp 1.6 depends on the engine code.

Have you got a picture of the engine?

If its got a crossflow head its 100bhp model.

Believe the code was AFT

if you want 150bhp....ABF? will be better then running on the limit of your 1.6, and easily available from ibiza gti's and golf gti's (mk3) and it is a great engine

suj i just got the engine to late to get the abf so i need help wit my 1.6

about the engine photo i just can't do it now cuse i didn't pass 15 post so i will post more and come back lol

You wont get 150hp out of that engine without some kind of forced induction or stupid cams. And then it wont be overly reliable after all that. Likely to throw rods or melt pistons. It wasn't designed to be a high power engine.

to go to that power your gonna need to re-do the internals without doubt.

Would be possible but more expensive than just lumping a bigger motor in.

guys i just say 150hp as example put u all said it's possible so i have here 105hp i just do stuff to level up the hp maybe 120 or maximum 130hp

just need to know what to do

Performance filter, sports CAT and exhaust with a damn good tune up would probably see somewhere between 110-120bhp. Cams and a chip added 120-130bhp.

Forced induction or nitrous to go higher than that, but you won't do it on stock internals.
