Hi peeps ,
Hope someone can shed some light on a problem i had today with my car.

Its a IHI ibiza and i only use it when the weather is nice, so today beeing the first dry nice day in 4 weeks i decided to take the car out of the garage and clear some cobwebs,

However when i first gave it the LOUD pedal it coughed and spluttered and a SH1t load of burnt oil came out of the exhaust,
so i backed off , composed myself and went for it again , same result
Huge fecking cloud of burnt oil

A few seconds later when the temp guage was on 90 it was ok with a slight plume of smoke, but from this point on all was ok.

The engine had not been turned over for 4 weeks and was not up to FULL running temp when this happened.

  Anyone??????

Jools, were you still stationary when you first 'gave it the Loud pedal'?

Are you absolutely certain it's oil smoke?

Was in 2nd gear at about 40 mph .
Deffo oil smoke and the car spluttered and misfired as it did it.

Am wondering whether it had oil drain from the turbo with being stood for so long and maybe damage to the bearings but i'm not Tecchi enough and need answers from those cleverer than me. ;)

Its been stoodstill to long and then you asked of it before it was well up to temp and settled down. Residual oil/water lying around probably in the exhaust system/area prob upset exhaust sensing probes. Just do what i did today let it get warm and run it every weekend even if its only for 30mins (actually drive it) just to blow the cobwebs off, and if posssible **** on a fq340 in the process.

Can't see why oil would seep into the Exhaust as surely the cat will get fooked

Its either unburnt fuel/oil/ excess moisture. I would link it directly to not running the turbo under load for sustained periods. Pre/post cat sensors could have been upset by any of the above, easy way to find out run it tomorrow night and see what happens. I came back from 2 weeks holiday in the summer and the car was using old vag semi syn oil it smoked quite badly for the first few wot runs then it cleared. It used to use oil with the vag oil but using magnatec stopped that and it never uses any now.

I also thought the n75 had a function that limited boost until the car was up to temp, could be wrong though.

I would suspect colected oil from the breather in the inlet manifold and fould a spark plug.
Check fault codes see if it's logged a misfire.
