Quick bit of yes or no action please people, i checked my boost hoses today and found the hose of my intercooler had a sheered lug, however it had actually wedged itself so wouldnt come out with out a 'yank' no i reseated its popped off (luckily i was only booting it towards my house). Could i reseat it and wrap it with metal tape as a short term measure till the ordered pipe comes through? obviously not going to boot it.

Quick responses would be great as i need it tomorrow for boot space as my fiesta obviously doesnt have the same boot space as a leon

Cheers guys

Try it. If you disconnect the N75 it'll hard limit your boost - ok short term, but if you lose boost completely if the tape fails then the car will be undrivable.

0.6 bar (unassisted wastegate pressure) is less than 9psi. A decent bodge will probably do that if you enjoy a bit of excitement.

Wastegate pressure? And ye I can get hold of cable ties?what's the trueck with them

Am I right in sayin people use this as a permanent method of securing the pipe connections even when the pipes are fully serviceable.

Heres what I've done to mine today, should hold with any luck. They hadn't actually come out anyway but prevention is better than cure.

I've done all the joins apart from the red pipe from the turbo as I dont think cable ties would work there.
