Hi all im a new memeber and i recently became the owner of a mk2 ibiza cupra gti.
this sounds good but theres a story behinde owning the car.
my friend had owned it for a while and the bottom end gave up on him so its been sat in his garden on a car trailor looking sorry for its self for the past couple of months.
he had the idea of turboing it so bought a 1.8 20v turbo engine then left then engine in his lock up and the car in his garden still.
so after a while i was noseying around it showing my intrest and said how much i liked it and how much of a good project and car it would be when its done to which he replyed if you like it and your not going to leave it to rot but make somthing nice out of it il give you the car and engine , as you can imagine my eyes lit up :) so now im currently preparing my fiesta zetec-s for sale and looking into the things i need for the conversion the ibiza is t reg and the engine is the one with the fordged bottom end the same one as the engine in the s3 , i was looking at the diy qpang wiring loom and ecu the plug in and play one for 600 that use's some of your wiring loom and i plan to buy the ko3s turbo as the turbo with the engine is nackerd also im under the understand i need a cupra r down pipe and oviously intercooler and fitting kit what else will i need to fit the engine into the ibiza and also do any of you have review on the qpang kits thank for your time and i know its alot of reading lol
Thanks Shawn

i would look at the following threads and read theirs (search these members)
"roly"
"martinm"
"ibiza_95"

also this has been covered alot of times, use the search function at the top, you will get good reading then :)

why has nobody thought of putting a 2.0 TFSI engine in yet? they give out 300hp with just a remap. may require alot of alterations to engine bay though...

Vince people have thought about them
But they have a lot of wiring/plumbing that needs to be done
And then the gearbox too

Its not as simple as it looks, nothing ever is lol

I definetely agree, you got an absolute bargain. And Well Done for not letting another just rot away .

Thats the best place to start looking at each of those members readers rides threads. Ibiza_95 used the qpeng ecu/wiring loom so it would be best to ask him about that. Im sure he used a Mk4 Golf AUQ engine in his Ibiza.

Both Roly and Martin got rear damaged Mk3 Cupra's and put the engine, ecu, full wiring loom and the full Mk3 dash and clocking into there cars to keep it simple.
