Hi,
Can anyone with a mk2 Leon (ideally a 1.2 tsi) Do a little test for me please?
Basically, my AC on my 2010 tsi is ice cold if you put it on lo on the climate panel and the rad fans spin at low speed.
However if I set it to auto and pick a temp ie 20 degrees the fans stop and only come on for a few seconds at a time when the car is stationary. This results in noticeable air temp changes in the cabin when stood still. Is this normal?
I worry as I previously had a mk2 toledo with climatronic and that had the common resistor failure for the low fan speed which made the fans pulse at full pelt to keep the AC working properly (until they also failed) and I fitted a nime box to get low speed fans back.
So could someone test on their drive when they pull up after a journey please. When i stop and pop the bonnet the fans are not running. As the fatter AC pipe to the left of the engine gets warmer the fans then spool up on low and the pipe gets cold again, then the fans stop again. It will then keep doing this. (Unless I spin the dial to low and then the fans spring into life and stay on.)
I wondered if it was either a problem or some kind of eco thing?
Thanks guys!
