Is my anti shudder valve faulty?

Not sure if this has been covered before but when i switch off my engine on my fr tdi 170 its sometimes noisy

yeah my pd used to do this, only sometime when id been on long journeys, didnt give it much thought car didnt seem to run any worse as a result, but I did notice that it was louder with my K&N which made me think it was just excess air in the system

hmm no idea sorry, any chance you can open your bonnet and get someone to turn the engine off so you can actually work out where its coming from?

I was told its the anti shudder valve underneath the egr

Also how do i remove the the egr valve and asv?

ASV is under the EGR

Remove by popping the boost pipe off bottom, Undoing me bolts, 2 at front top of EGR Valve that attach it to the manifold, One at back goes through the ASV and EGR and bolts into the Manifold

Getting at the back one is a right fiddly job

cheers, but one of the bolts is above the metal pipe that bolts to the side of the egr valve and i cant get to it, i have undone the pipe but its solid and only comes away from the egr a tiny bit :-(

Yep its right awkward! i snapped that pipe off , Fitted a EGR Delete and blocked the pipe at the other end

mines going to garage tomorrow think its the asv and a emissions light has come on. symptoms im experiencing are when you turn the ignition off its like the engine gives a rough judder to a holt will find out tomorrow if it is the asv is it cheaper to get it blocked off

Yep that's it mate a rough judder to a holt! It doesnt do it all the time But I don't have any lights on the dash. Let me know what's causing the judder please mate
