Jerky Lift Off

Hi all,

wouldnt say this was a problem, but 60% of the time, if im in say any gear, mainly 2nd and 3rd, if im holding half throttle and i lift off the gas, the car tends to jerk forward. Is abit annoying gettting whiplash!

any ideas?

I only get this in 1st coming off estate when the car is a little cold.

i get this in every gear mostly down to my gt28rs sometimes pops as well!!!!!

Could be a worn engine mount causing excess engine movement? How many miles has the car covered

Just ticked on to 69k last night, it only does it when im giving it some though, could be a mount gone. A mates went on about the same milage

I think i know the feeling, I get it sometimes when half throttle through 2nd/3rd then ease off. It feels like there's pressure building up, then being pushed back through the system as you ease off?

Got this with mine started doing it recently thinking it could be the maf scince evry now and again when sitting and idleing the revs drop for a split second then it fine again.

had it when i had my old escort aswell turned out to be the maf.

Makes sense, shes been running a bit rough the last couple of days not boosting fully. popped into backdraft on friday and it produced a possible MAF issue on vag com

maf's worst thing they ever put on a car if you ask me.

how much they cost anyway never had to do one before where the best place to get one.??

I'll have a search later, but i believe they're around £50/60. I know not to entertain anything other than the dealer part either.

i have an EML light on aswell at the moment so it could be related, it does it if hot or cold. Going to get it VAG'comd tomorrow so we should see what the eml light is on for. Car runs fine though, just can be jerky sometimes!

I'm not entire sure what you mean with jerky, but if your EML came on then my guess is a coilpack which was on its way out...you got the feeling its running on 3 cylinders?

i get this a fair bit mine car has nearly hit 60k but this even used to happen on my first cupra wich only had 24k on it.....i just think its normal

not had any lights or anything with mine but it does feel like its not running quite as smooth as it did not any noticable power loss or anything just feels off.
