Jump leads on a model with battery in boot

I'm just thinking ahead here, after my sister had a flat battery on her Focus this week.

say I get a totally flat battery. Central locking won't open boot so can't get access to battery. How do I jump it?

I've spotted a black flap with a '+' symbol on it in front of the air filter. Is that a battery positive terminal under the bonnet?

There is a release lever inside the boot for just such occasions.

YES - under the flap is the +ve terminal and you earth on the earthing strap.

Works just as well as connecting directly to the battery

your not supposed to jump off a battery if you can help it anyway!

when the battery is in the boot there is always a positive point under the bonnet to jump from and the earth can go almost anywhere
