K1 Gone but not forgotten

Hi all,
Just a quick post to say I finally decided to scratch the itch and try a different car. So my K1 has gone and at the weekend replaced it with an EVO IX.

Two totally different cars to drive, the evo actually grips the tarmac from stand still and handles better (4WD).
Performance wise from stand still the EVO would have it but I still maintain my K1 in a cruise at 50 in 4th and then drop it down to 3 rd and floor it my K1 would win.

Stilllearning about the EVO and the car does need a bit of work, starting with some new alloys and taking off the aftermarket ralliart carbon fibre wing mirrors and putting originals back on!

Will still be on these forums on and off though, been a great couple of years with the K1.

A few pics of my EVO.

Mods please move if in the wrong place!!

Looks good mate, I had a feeling you'd get rid of your cupra to be honest. Best to do it before it becomes a real problem. Pity that you couldn't get it sorted easily though.

Still, you'll turn a lot more heads in that. I do like evos and you've definitely got the best colour for one!

If you get any spare time, I'd love to have a nosey round it at some point.

Fantastic car Invisible, looks stunning - the EVO IX is in a different league! ;)

Also spotted the Ralliart mudflaps too. Wonder if they'd let you create a new Build thread here for your Evo! :D
Would be nice to see how it takes shape, with the new Alloys etc......

I'm planning to go Jap for my next ride, after the Leon. [B)]

Just round the corner.
Nice car buddy, as said above shame you couldn't get your K1 sorted. Always preferred the Evo styling, especially to Impreza's, although the Scooby wins with the boxer engine.

Anyway.............Whats the spec!!!

A bit sketchy on the specs to be honest as previous owner did not provide any details of what has been done but it is not standard i know that and I'm still learning about EVO'S so will check more out

From what I have established so far;

3inch exhaust with decat
apexi avc-r boost controller
HKS induction kit and I think DV too
Not looked at ECU or fuel pump yet.

I will get it on a dyno at some point but talking to a few specialists they reckon its defo stage1 min, maybe stage2

Rumour is 390bhp at 1.5bar currently

Suspension is Bilsten shocks which are standrd on the GT model anyway but not lowered at all. Car seems to be braced in engine bay and underneath.

Mine is up for sale on Autotrader with Burton Joyce Cars in Nottingham for 12,995 with all the mods on it which I think is a good price. They did not mention it has a WALK kit or that the fuel pump has been upgraded. All it needs is an exhaust system for stage 2+ :)

I put a new coil pack in and is now running sweet but never managed to pin SEAT down to confirming what was causing them to go.

The exhaust hanging bracket was the final straw for me. Basically a £10 bit of steel they could not get for me!! The Garage that is now selling it is going to get a bracket fabricated.

Still has manufacturers warranty until June.

I do miss it, wish I could have afforded to keep it and the EVO.

The EVO is a different animal altogether though.

I'll get the EVO on the rollers soon and report back :)

Its difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like you have a tubular exhaust manifold fitted.
Suprised that you have the AVCR installed, but no Fuel controller (i.e Apexi SAFC) :confused:Unless of course that the ecu has been flashed with the map and using the Apexi to controll the boost ?
Have you checked what boost settings you have on the AVCR, as you can hold 3 settings (settings A+B+off) ?

Nice car by the way [B)]
