K1 Mirrors - Electrical Fault?

When trying to use the electric mirror adjustment switch last night, my bf noticed that when it was turned to the right to move the driver side mirror, it moved both the drivers side mirror and passenger side mirror. But when turned to the left, it moved just the passenger side mirror. Is this normal? I've never noticed it before, and if there is a fault, would it be covered on warrenty?

Thanks :)

Im sure they are supposed to move together when the switch is to the right. If you have bluetooth you can change it so they both operate independantly. If you dont have bluetooth you will need Vag-Com to change it.

Hmmm, doesn't make much sense to me why they would both move when switched to the right but oh well! I don't have a clue what Vag-Com is, how/where can I get this done?

Presumably to help when reverse parking. If both mirrors are set up correctly first then you can adjust the two together afterwards as it saves time and hassle moving one then the other. I personally found it annoying so i disabled the function.

As for Vag-Com... there are many members on here that have it. Maybe put up a request in the Vag-Com section for someone in your area, im sure somebody would be kind enough to help you but if not you could go to your local dealer.

It does this on mine and i find i really handy you need to set your mirrors up first. do the o/s (r/h) mirror first and then the n/s (l/h). once you have done then when u come to park i just keep the mirror switch on r/h and then u can drop both mirrors so u dont kerb your 18" lol.

North Lincolnshire.
To adjust just put switch to the right then move right side mirror to the required position.I know it also moves the left one but ignore that for the time being. Then put switch to the left to adjust only the left mirror which is ideal for adjusting downward when pulling over or reversing next to the kerbside. Also the switch needs to be in that position to disengage the heated mirrors which you do not need draining the battery in summer months. The switch can be returned to centre position when needed, i.e.when freezing in winter.
No need to disable via vagcom.
