Right I'm looking into FMIC setups for my cupra (180) and I've seen this airtec set up for an LCR (http://www.autospecialists.co.uk/AI...Intercooler-conversion-kit-Product-1088.html#) basically what I'm wondering is, is it possibly to fit to my AUQ without loosing fogs etc or have I gotta go big bucks for the forge kit? I have also looked at fitting the LCR inlet mani to make life easier but hearing about having to splice looms etc for TB is putting me off? Anyone got any experience?

Cheers

Been thinking about a FMIC for mine.

My thoughts are below but it's all theory as i've not got round to getting/fitting one due to other things coming up.

If you aren't going for massive power the easiest way looks to be getting a twin pass intercooler which will use existing pancake pipe and intake manifold, will just need a couple of 90 degree elbows at the top and one at the bottom. Should allow you to keep fogs. May need some tweaking to get it perfect and you'll probably need to work on the crash bar but should be less hassle/pipe work than modding the airtech one.

It may not flow as well as a single pass but I THINK it should be an easier fit. Definitely worth seeing what other, more experienced forum members think.

Just my thoughts on it.

Yeah my problem is that exactly... I don't really wanna be spending days getting the fmic fitted... Although on further research I have found a lot of people have done them with this sort of set up (excuse the use of others pictures please)

And I was hoping it wouldn't be too difficult

Why not just go for the updated smic if your not going for bigger power there really is not much point in fitting the twinpass go for single pass and use the pancake then run the pipe from fmic up past fans past dipstick and then I to manifold that's what I'm working on

Ive already got an uprated side mount apparently... But I'm going to go "stage 2" and want some big(ish) power and would rather the fmic... Been looking at kits online today and doesn't look as bad as I thought, so are you routing the pipers the same way as in those pictures?

Go to badger5 in the sponsors section and have a look at LC180 Custom FMIC & Pipework
