Leon FR 2.0 TFSI any known exhaust mods?

Hi

I am wondering if there is any exhaust mods i could do to make my cars exhaust louder than standard without changing the complete system.

I have got a 2.0tfsi FR with DSG box, its got the BTCC kit on it so its got the twin exhaust pipes,

I have noticed that its not loud enough for me, it needs to be louder, i love the way it pops when at gear changes but needs to be louder in my opinion, and at higher revs i can hear the engine noise more than the exhaust

I have spoken to a exhaust company they said a decat will make the engine light come on so start off by removing the middle box of the exhaust first as this may be enough.

has anyone done or know any mods that can be done to the standard exhaust system?

I know it's not what you asked but from what I have read (depending on your thoughts) it may benefit you more buying one of these air intakes

Get the centre silencer chopped out and replace with a straight pipe. Deepens the tone and you get the occasional pop too. Should be no more than 50-60 quid.

You cut it on the car when doing a silencer removal, no need for exhaust removal. If your gonna go to the effort to take it all off you may aswell go the whole hog and get a decat pipe. Cheap little mod I suppose if you want to knock it out, but the main restriction is the main cat so I doubt it makes a difference

thanks for the reply, the garage i spoke to said that i should remove the centre box as the decat will bring the engine light on and could run in limp mode,

so if i knock the stuff out of the standard cat will this cause me any probs? also what shoudl i be paying to do this ?

Also has anyone done both mods? if anyone can give me a more detail what its will sound like i woudl appriciate it

You can get a 200cel sports cat which wont bring the light on but will flow alot better, the OEM one is 800cel i think.

i run a 100cel sports cat but the light did come on until it was mapped out
