Hello,

Has anyone changed their downpipe? What's the performance like? And will it affect/pass MOT? I know if u do a decat will fail MOT. So just wanting to change the downpipe.

Changing the downpipe- will the exhuast sound increase or just the same?

has it got dpf?
if it has it must be visisble on mot
so just remove and cut hole in it and smash out internals then you will need a dpf delete done on software

I have a 2.0tdi FR 170ps, I have a 3" downpipe to a 2.5" centre box with twin exits, performance is so much better, drives a lot better too. Doesn't feel restricted.

In theory it shouldn't pass an MOT, but 99% of people with decats & de-dpfs have passed (diesels only). If you keep the engine cover top + bottom you'll be fine.

Finally yes it'll change the nice, more turbo noise

Get a EGR + DPF Delete at the same time, you can get the two for a better price.

I've done the Dpf delete ( mines been gutted and welded back up ) & software tweek and am also running shark stage 2, mines a Btcc pd 170 with the exhaust @ either side of the bumper, i dont have a middle box just the rear box can i add one of these 3" down pipes?

Does it connect up to my Gutted Dpf ?

If it makes the engine perform better i'll be getting one, im guessing there'll just more turbo sound through the exhaust?

Yeah downpipe will make a massive improvement in power-as the stock pipe is smaller and restricts the the amount of air to the exhaust. Adding 3"downpipe will open it-turbo will breathe straight through then.

Is it depends on certain MOT places as I read and heard dpf delete are now illegal and added as part of an MOT check so will defiantly fail?!

The dpf is a visual check only....how much are these down pipes?

Will they connect up to my standard exhaust ok?
