After reading through a few posts I found that I can buy a xenon headlight adapter which will resolve this I have purchased the adapter but I don't know how to connect this the company has provide with very brief instructions but am still about confused is there anyone that has done this? the instructions I was given

Right-hand headlamp: xenon adapter pin 11 goes to the on board supply control unit in the
A black 11-pin connector pin 5
Left-hand headlamp: xenon adapter pin 11 goes to the on board supply control unit in the
Brown 11-pin D connector Pin 6
where is the on board supply control unit???

Any help will be appreciated.

Basically you have a couple of long wires from the harness adapter, these cable go into the car and under the dash above the pedals is the control module which you need to connect into. Have you got a pre or face lift model as they use different modules and therefore a different cable location.

Thanks for your reply mine is a pre face lift 2006 model are the wires quite easy to feed through? What would you think the best way to do it is and do you know what I should be looking for under the driver side? It's in the steering column is it?

Fairly easy, I sent wires via the existing loom feed which is behind the battery. You can see the cables to through the bulkhead and you snip one of the rubber nipples off and use a wire coat hanger which you feed through and pull the cables though attached to the other end. You will need to remove the underside of the passenger footwell to help with access but this is two thumb screws and a couple of hex screws. Feed the wires over to the drivers side and the control module is there, just above the pedals. Send me a email and I might have some info on a PDF. [email protected]

I've got the details on my PC but I think you are pre facelift so the below is for the FL from memory.

I don't have a photo to hand of the pre fl but if you undo the red clips in the cecm (same location as above photo) the. You take the plugs out and you will see A and D (written on them). Cable from the right headlight goes into #5 on plug A (bottom left when looking at the pins) and the wire for the left headlight goes into plug D into pin #6.

Hopefully this helps but if you're still unsure drop me a PM to [email protected] and I can send you a PDF of a retrofit for a mk5 golf which is the same.

Cheers

Rob

When I fitted mine to my first Leon all I done was take the pin 11 which is the flap for high beam and connected it to the high beam bulb which there is a h1 bulb on the pre facelift and it worked fine
As for bulb warning you need to code it with bag com I had to before mine would work at all
