Hello all!

:help:

I am new to this forum having recently purchase a 2008 Seat Leon Stylance 2.0 TDI.

I'm 19 and i live in Leeds.

The main reason why i joined the forum is for advice on a few little niggles i have with it. The most annoying one by a country mile is a rattle that comes from the dashboard. The rattle comes from right below the bit of dash that separates the two center air con vents. Just above the three horizontal buttons that control the air-con direction. When i press down hard on the point where the rattle comes from it stops.

I have read other threads on dash removal (in particular the radio removal) but i need to get to the bit of dash above the radio.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Rob

Hi Mate

Welcome to SCN. Silly question probably but does it make a difference when you close the vents? I had a very mile ‘rattle’ for a while but then i closed the vents and it disappeared and didn’t re occur when i then opened them. Apart from that after 7 years my car ‘touching wood’ is rattle free.

;)

It might be your speedo plastics (dunno correct word) but when I removed my plastic surrounding the speedo I missed a clip when I put I back on and it rattled a little then but I just gave my plastics a good push and popped back in

Remove the radio the way you've probably read how, then the air con unit just pops out with a bit of force. I've recently installed the FL dual climate unit and it does the same.

Ah ye there are screws for air con part, mine only had two screws at the bottom of the unit, the rest, including the speeometer part, just popped out. The FL must be better made :p
