Hi all,

I'm planning on doing an oil change on my Seat Leon ST MK3. In preparation, I popped the bonnet, removed the engine cover but can't see the oil filter anywhere. I assume the oil filter is only accessible from underneath, which is fine, but I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what tool is required to remove it i.e. some sort of chain/strap adjustable strap wrench, or if a socket is more suitable, if so, what size?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot, kiddo.

I think I already have that socket as it's the same one that I use for my Leon Mk2 1.6 TDi COPA - however, that filter's accessible from above.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I got underneath the car and found the filter housing. The problem is, there's some wiring and a connector of some sort just below it - so I'm afraid that if I open the housing the wiring and connector would just get covered in oil. (I could wrap-up the connector such that any oil wouldn't get on it but it is slightly in the way and hampering access to the housing so I'd rather just unplug it).

Any idea on what the connector is? I don't want to unplug it and have issues afterwards. (To clarify, I'm talking about the connector with the red and white wires in the images).

Any advice would be much appreciated.
