Hi all,

This is my first post. :)

I am looking at purchasing a 58 plate Seat Leon FR TDi 170. I am aware of the injector recall, however I would like to know for how long the problematic injectors were a problem for?

The posts I read all reference 06, 56, 07 models...I am looking at a 58 - are they still affected?

The car I am looking at has 95,000 miles on the clock.

Thanks,
Picco

Injectors can be a problem on any diesel. I have just had my 57 plate done on recall but I never had any issues before. The mondeo st is supposed to suffer too but we used to have one of them and never had any issues either.

These forums are very useful for any issues people have, the problem is this means that all people ever see are the negative sides not the positive sides of cars. Just go for it, all cars have issues you just hope you never come across them.

My 57 plate Leon recently had the injectors replaced too (under SEAT warranty).

To re-iterate, SEAT told me there's no way of telling if the car has the "bad batch", until the units are actually removed from the car - then they can tell, by the information stamped on them.

My car had gone in for a general service, and the injectors were removed and checked (and replaced) at the same time.
I've never (had never) experienced any issues with the car, in 3 years of ownership, that might have been related to "faulty injectors".

I'm pleased to say that Seat Verve in Crookedholm, Kilmarnock replaced all four injectors under the recall F.O.C. I called them and the arranged for the car to be looked at within a few days, so within a week of buying the car the recall was done! :) I can't say I noticed a massive difference in the car but I am benefiting from a great deal more peace of mind that the injectors have been replaced and i'm not going to break down (for that fault anyway) :)

Thanks for the advice and I hope this helps someone in the future.
