Couple of points first:

1) I know my car sucks.

2) its not going any faster

3) i cant sell it cos im about to spend 400 quid on the cambelt service, and i spent so much effort on the stereo

4) I HAVE read every thread about lowering my car, and i just ended up confused

Seat Sport? H & R, Evo Racing cheap crap on ebay? Roll bars?

the thing is - i have 15mm eibach spacers on the back, which improved the toe in on roundabouts (would you believe), and i want to keep them, but the car still rolls like a bowling ball at the very sniff of a corner.

I want a cheap solution - i dont want to kill the comfort of the ride too much either because i do long journeys fairly often, so.....

I was thinking just a cheap set of lowered springs, or the 140 quid EVO racing set on ebay, but am i being silly? Im wary of a full set of kit at that price....

Or should i just go for the seat sport kit and keep it inthe right family - will i be pleased?

The anti roll bars are a bit expensive - as i cant see them doing anywhere near as much as lowering (i dropped my old Astra SR with just tighter springs and it was cool - tyres died really badly but it was a good fun ride.)

as the car is at 60,000 I guess the dampers might start to go soon anyway, so the logical step is the seat sport kit, what say you all? Any recommendations? any horror stories? any help you can provide me greatly appreciated, as my little car looks ok now but handles like a cruise liner. "Hard to port!"

ta in anticipation :D

i would imagine some of those cheap kits would be ok, although the kit you've mentioned i dont think is for your car. you know your cars not high performance anyway so i personally wouldn't spend too much. strut braces could be what your after aswell.

yea i was thinking about a strut brace, but i wanted to get rid of the buoyancy in the suspension first, i guess ill need to do both to get the feeling im after.

I'm beginning to think this will be good money after bad, and i should change my car, but i have a reliable one, its never given me a moment of grief in 20,000 miles, I'm loathed to buy a second hand car with similiar miles and decent performance because i might sacrifice the reliability.

I'm leaning toward a seat sport kit now, tried and tested, and wont devalue the car much.....

strut brace is a good way to go tho, they cant be more than 90 quidish i guess, i think i might be better off saving my money for a jap beast with a turbo and decent handling as standard........its a shame the ibiza is a bit flawed in the handling stakes....

ITs kind of a mish mash of a golf and a polo and the suspension geometry suffers in the process, which is a shame. I might try 10mm spacers at the front and strut brace first.....I dunno im no expert as you can tell.

I miss my alfa sprint. That was a dope motor, but rusty as hell. Handling was pimpin tho'!

It had a strut brace inherent in the chassis design at both ends......like atonka toy. I'm never going to get the result i want with this car i suppose. ~Honest opinions please - Should i bother at all?
