Hi guys

I am getting the urge to lower my car, I was really hoping i wouldn't getting this modifying itch again but unfortunately, im starting to feel the need to scratch it

few questions though, I could just do with confirming the answers to and also after peoples opinions, firstly am i right in saying that with an LCR, you get about 25mm less drop than what is stated on the spring if that makes sense.

Also, do droplinks need to be upgraded or am i right in thinking after searching this is just LC's.

Im going to, or IF i do should i say, just lower my car with springs, has anybody used just KW or Weitec springs only, what is the ride quality like now .

Finally, anybody using springs at 40/50mm on an LCR, pics would be greatly appreciated ;)

thanks for your help and reading

lowered mine by about 45mm on just eibach springs
It sits on 18's and needed the drop looked like it was on stilts.
Car

looks good now and rides firmer but not to harsh.

im running kw springs, really happy with the look and the ride, its a bit stiffer but still nice enough for every day use.

i used 50mm springs on the missus mk4 gti and i am going to remove them, way to low on standard shox, it hurts over bumps, when you hit one the car doesnt stop bouncing from the rebound,

Excuse me for being silly. You say that with the LCR lowering springs, if you fit 40mm springs you only get 15mm drop? Is this correct? If it is thats exactly what I want for better traction:D

is it the 40mm ones you are using ?

yes mate, i will be moving to coilovers one day but i mainly wanted it for looks just till i got coilovers,

to be honest i want going for coilovers as i still wanted a nice everyday ride but now im doing a bit more track i think its worth it, but will be getting damping adjustment to soffen it for the road.

thanks for the answers guys.

It's a bit of both really, at the min i have more important things on the car that need sorting prior to this so by the time there done I might of gone passed the stage of wanting it lowered to be honest.

it is mainly for looks but on the other hand it should still improve handling to a certain degree, granted not as good as coilovers but as i progress with modding the car i will fit things like ARB's and braces to improve this anyway.
