Lowering the FR

Has anyone lowered theirs yet, the only thing that lets the car down a bit for me is the gap between the wheels and the wheel arch, it seems unnecessarily large.

Has anyone any recommendations about good springs to use and what sort of cost I'd be looking at. Thinking perhaps somewhere 20-30mm drop

If you want to drop 25-30mm you must go with the eibach sportlines.Eibach sport kit will give you roughly 10-15mm.You must consider replacing your dampers also with bilstein b8 to do it right.IMO kw v2 is the best solution for the fr.I am considering installing kw v2 on my own fr.The cost is a little bit high but always you get what you pay for

I've never lowered a car before, my previous MK2 and MK3 stances always seemed fine but the MK4 just sits that little bit too high for my liking.

I shall investigate what you've said and will post some pictures once I've bitten the bullet and done it. Always seems quite wasteful chopping out an almost brand new part to replace it with something else just because it niggles at me every time I see the car.

I just feel it will look a lot better once done 🙂

It will certainly look better.By the way I am sure that the mk2 which was my previous 🚗(with sports suspension)was sitting higher than the mk4 fr!Now the car has two fingers gap at the front and three at the back but certainly eliminating that gap will be awesome!

Eibach Sportlines are usually a 40mm drop (red spring)

If you want a subtle 15-20mm drop then look at Eibach Pro Kit springs (black) these have been designed to use OE shock absorbers so you can get away with springs only.

Personal opinion Eibach Pro Kit gets it about right

From my experience from the mk2 pro kit gives at the most 15mm on sports suspension which is not bad at all but you still have a gap.Sportlines eliminates the gap but in exchange you get a harsh ride.It is a matter of preference. My vote goes on coilovers

FR is factory lower at the 15 mm. The Pro Kit spring will add another 15 mm or will it stay as it was?
