I've fitted mine, then removed it as I had a track day and didn't have the adaptor to reduce down from the OEM MAP pipe to the Forge one.
It bolts onto the flanged bit and the OEM MAP pipe.
You have to trim the OEM battery holder and the hold down plate too, the one with a bolt holding the battery inplace.

The OEM MAP pipe is a funny restricted shape and size that twists the boost as its passing through this pipe.
The MAP pipe as seen is straight and bigger bore to eliminate the above issues.
In the LC you need one as the OEM MAP sensor is in the SMIC but in the LCR its a seperate piece from the Twin SMIC's

I have the forge map sensor replacement pipe and yes you need to trim the battery tray down to make it fit, I would advise having battery relocation brackets aswell as it is very tight fit with the relocation brackets, so it probably won't fit without them

The less restrictions in bends etc, it's better for airflow. Also it's slightly bigger in size over the standard oem one so it must be a benefit
