Hello people. What is the maximum bhp and torque you can get from an auq engine without changing the turbo, and what mods would be needed? Cheers.

I got 240 odd just with a bigger DP / sports cat and custom map. Fmic wasnt needed to make that figure, but its helpful during the warmer months when the SMIC will start to struggle.

AUQ on standard internals with a tweaked turbo, either hybrid or bigger can easily hit 320bhp and 300 ft of torque if 'mapped' correctly and safely ....

AUQ with upgraded internals .... sky's the limit, don't let the 19mm wrist pin bull crap put you off... it's a strong engine.

AUQ with Stage 2+ mods can reach 250bhp, FMIC, TIP, 3" Downpipe, 2.5" Exhaust, De-Cat, Big filter, Water meth, and most important the right map, Niki has made a fair few mk1 leon cupra's run between 235-250 bhp with the above, proven on 3-4 different rollers

So you can get 220 bhp with minor mods and a decent map. Is there any weak points to the engine that might need replacing before I do this? Is the clutch ok with this power? What would the 0-60 be with that power?

People are running 300bhp on bigger turbo's with the OE clutch on a AUQ leon cupra, as long as you don't launch it at every chance you get, clutch should be fine.

I take it turbo upgrades are very expensive and not a straight forward swap?

Pretty much so, can be £2.5K to £6K depending on 1. if you can do the work yourself (labour costs the most) 2. if you get someone else to do it for you, this is a rough guess, give or take

Thanks to people for advice. So to max engine I need uprated pannel filter, turbo intake pipe, fmic, 2.5 exhaust with sport cat and down pipe and find some where that can do a good custom map. Is there anything else I should add?

would recommend a fmic and TIP, done mine after i had a stage one map and i can feel it holds boost and has a lovely mid range, just picked up a de cat down pipe so next month going for stage 2 (fingers crossed) and mine on stage one was 228 bhp with 260 lbft and that was with a open filter and a dv.
